This image was from an early winter morning sunrise at the Alabama Hills. I rolled out of my campsite and hiked up to this vantage point in pure darkness, and I was greeted by this stunning view. Just a moment before official sunrise, the peaks of the Sierra Nevada glowed a bright pink, starkly contrasting against the deep blue of the morning sky and the shadow covered boulder field of the Alabama Hills. My favorite part of this image after reviewing it in depth was the winding dirt road meandering through the boulder field. If you look close enough, you might even spot a few other car campers! I left them in the final image so the scale of this enormous boulder field remains.
